Theatre and the Arts

Sterts Theatre is a unique theatre on the moor which has excellent local productions in the summer and also sees many touring companies. The theatre is in a static marquee with wooden seats cut into a slope – take a cushion! The restaurant provides first class food, plus a barbecue on many evenings.

Kneehigh, Cornwall's favourite internationally-acclaimed theatre company is based in Truro and during the summer has one of its quirky and original offerings in The Asylum, a marquee based next to The Lost Gardens of Helligan.

The Theatre Royal in Plymouth is one of the country's outstanding regional theatres, often showing West End productions.

The Hall for Cornwall in Truro similarly has high quality shows.

The Daphne Du Maurier Festival is renowned and takes place during May.

Port Eliot Festival is at the end of July centred on the wonderful Port Eliot estate at St Germans.

South East Society of Artists has an attractive gallery in a former chapel in Polperro and shows the work of local artists and potters.
